From 23 to 25 October 2024, the 18th Congress of the International Union of Microbiological Societies (IUMS) will be held in Florence.

This event represents a unique opportunity to bring together microbiologists from all over the world to share and discuss the latest advances and future perspectives in microbiology.

The main theme of IUMS 2024 will be:

“Microorganisms for sustainable solutions: environmental and clinical implementations”

It will discuss microbial genetics, molecular biology, gene regulation, proteomics and the applied aspects of microbiology, including biotechnology, clinical, medical, industrial and environmental applications.

The IUMS 2024 meeting will be an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of microorganisms to society and the planet and discuss how to actively collaborate to promote sustainable solutions that preserve microbial diversity and maximise global well-being.
